Recently, ShanghaiRanking officially released the "2026 Best Chinese Universities Ranking". Our university & Academy has achieved remarkable progress, ranking 17th among medical universities in China—an increase of 2 places compared with last year. In the overall ranking, it climbed to 135th, up 28 places, and ranked 174th among public universities nationwide, rising by 40 places. These achievements mark a significant leap in the university’s & academy’s comprehensive educational strength and social reputation.
Since its debut in 2015, the "Best Chinese Universities Ranking" has gained widespread attention and recognition for its professionalism, objectivity and transparency. It categorizes universities into comprehensive universities, 8 types of single-subject universities, and 4 types of non-public universities, adopting differentiated indicator systems for ranking. The evaluation framework comprises 10 modules, 35 dimensions, 104 indicators and 398 variables, offering a three-dimensional monitoring and evaluation of the operation and development level of Chinese universities.
Since 2020, our university & Academy has maintained a strong upward momentum in the ranking for six consecutive years. It has achieved a cumulative increase of 45 places in the ranking of Chinese medical universities and 271 places among national public universities. This fully demonstrates the remarkable effectiveness of the university’s & academy’s adherence to the integrated development of education, technology and talent, as well as the innovative implementation of the integrated education model of "University + Research Institutes + Affiliated Hospitals".
Adhering to the principle of "disciplines as the foundation", our university & Academy has thoroughly implemented the "135 Project". By optimizing the discipline layout, strengthening the directions of superior disciplines, vigorously promoting interdisciplinary integration, and improving the construction of the "goose-formation discipline system", core indicators such as talent training, scientific research and social services have continued to improve rapidly. These efforts have laid a solid disciplinary foundation for the high-quality development of the university & Academy and the construction of a first-class university.
