On April 15, ShanghaiRanking unveiled the 2025 China University Rankings. The University & Academy ranked 19th among China’s medical universities, up 6 places (a 31.58% increase) from the previous year, and 163rd in the main rankings—marking its best-ever performance in this ranking.
Since 2020, the University & Academy has maintained a strong development momentum. It has climbed steadily in ShanghaiRanking’s China Medical University Rankings for five consecutive years, with a cumulative rise of 43 places, fully demonstrating its growing comprehensive strength and development potential.
ShanghaiRanking's China University Rankings is a three-dimensional monitoring evaluation of Chinese universities, covering 10 evaluation modules: school-running level, disciplinary level, educational resources, faculty scale and structure, talent cultivation, scientific research, social service, high-level talents, major projects and achievements, and international competitiveness. It is further divided into 37 evaluation dimensions, 104 evaluation indicators, and 392 evaluation variables.
The 2025 rankings covered a total of 1,078 institutions, including 839 public universities, 231 private universities, and 8 institutions of Sino-foreign cooperation as well as cooperation between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions.
Adhering firmly to the goal of building a first-class university, the University & Academy has promoted the coordinated and integrated development of education, science and technology, and talent. It has fully implemented the "2025•6610 Operational Plan" and the "135 Project", closely aligned itself with major national strategic needs, strengthened the planning of discipline and major development, focused on cultivating top innovative talents, optimized advantageous disciplinary directions, attached great importance to disciplinary echelon construction and interdisciplinary integration, and established a "goose-formation" discipline construction system. Since its founding, various construction indicators have risen rapidly, enabling the University & Academy to achieve leapfrog high-quality development.
