Recently, ShanghaiRanking Consultancy, a leading higher education evaluation institution, released the 2025 ShanghaiRanking’s Best Chinese Disciplines Ranking. The Clinical Medicine discipline of our university & Academy ranked 26th nationwide (top 23%) and 10th among independent medical colleges, achieving five consecutive years of improvement since 2021.
Over the past five years, our university & Academy has prioritized the development of four core research fields: precision cancer radiotherapy, prevention and treatment of blinding corneal diseases, glycolipid metabolism and brain disorders, and prevention and treatment of leprosy and dermatological diseases. We have built discipline teams led by academicians and effective candidates for academicians.
We are equipped with a number of national-level scientific research and innovation platforms, including State Key Laboratories, cultivation bases of State Key Laboratories co-built by provinces and ministries, and key laboratories of the National Health Commission. More than 40 major and key national projects have been approved, and we have been awarded one Second Class Prize of the National Natural Science Award and one Second Class Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award respectively.
We boast a national-level Huang Danian-style teaching team, with nine courses accredited as National First-Class Undergraduate Courses. An integrated training model for top innovative talents—"Medicine, Education, Research and Industry"—has been established, driving all components of discipline construction forward in a steady and robust manner.
The consistent rise in the ranking of our Clinical Medicine discipline fully reflects our University & Academy’s remarkable momentum in medical education, scientific innovation, and talent cultivation. It not only validates our years of discipline construction achievements but also serves as a pivotal foundation for pursuing higher goals in the future.
Moving forward, building on this achievement, our University & Academy will further optimize discipline structure and layout, advance the integrated development of education, technology and talent, deepen education and teaching reform, and contribute wisdom and strength to the implementation of our Double First-Class initiative.
